Title: Help with disappearing channel...
Post by: bernieclub on February 25, 2013, 09:43:44 AM
Greetings....been gone for awhile.     I have a problem with my Ext. FP111.    It started as an occasional drop out of the left channel, and has progressed to rarely working.     I believe the problem is in the left shunt reg. board.    On power up, the LED on the "B" end of the board labeled D2 lights instantly, way before the others, but D1, and all LEDs on the left channel CCS boards never light.    No amount of poking and prodding will cause a flicker, but if I touch my meter to the power supply caps to check voltage, the LEDS instantly light, and if I power off and on a few times, the LEDS work fine.      Return FP to system, play for five minutes, channel dead again.   I've changed the tube, re-wet the solder joints, etc.     Should I just re-populate the board, or am I missing something?  T.I.A.

Hello Bernie,

On the center green PC board, do you have MJE350's or MJE5731A's?

Yeah, I'd recommend a new center C4S board with MJE5731A's instead of MJE-350's.  I think we still have the bits in the warehouse to kit one up for you.

Paul B.,
I got the board in yesterdays mail, installed last night, and music is playing this morning!   Thank you and all the crew for the amazing customer service.
