The Russian equivalent is 6N3P and I am wondering if anyone has tried them in their Paramounts.

Yes, sadly.  Not even close.  Harsh, brittle and very noisy compared to any NOS 5670.  I picked up a bunch of NOS JAN 5670 tubes as well as a few of the NOS GE 5 Star 5670 series.  The 5 Stars are my favorites.  The NOS are all expensive compared to the Chinese tubes but they will probably last a lifetime.  Seriously.  They were built for that as well as numerous on-off cycles as well as extreme linearity.

Thanks for your response. Pity because they are inexpensive and so many NOS or used strong ones are becoming pricey.

Go to a hamfest and you will find tubes for very little money.
