I didn't mention befire that I blew the fuse on my first power up. I looked at the assembly - seemed ok -
so I tried another fuse and it came up. Then listened to it for a few hours last night. This morning,
it powered up and I listened for about 15 minutes. Then powered down for two hours. Then I blew the fuse
again on powerup.
The parts list says its a 1A slo-blo GMA fuse. On the fuse it says F1AL 250V. When I look online, several places indicate
that the F is for fast blow and slow blow has a T. First, is this correct? Second, if so, am I masking a problem by using a slo-blow?
I'm guessing not. But, if the F1AL is a slow blow, then I have a problem.
The voltages follow. By the way, the sound at 70-80dB is, well, stunning.

Sounds like you did indeed get a fast blo. IIRC we have been sent the wrong fuse by our suppliers on occasion. A proper slo blo 1A should solve the problem.

I am convinced that a dead startup, just after the build when the capacitors have never been charged, draws more current for a while. By for a while I mean hours. At least that was my experience with my Eros. It was powered from a PS Audio P300. The whole system went to 200W and stayed there for 2-3 hours then started to lower. It has never reached 200W again.
Sorry I can't help you with the fuse question. I'm just saying that a fast blow might be fine after the first few hours.
Good luck, keep us posted on your impressions!

Dw:
I had the same problem same fuse type.
1Amp Slo Blo fixed it.

Thanks, everyone! I'll get the slow blow.

Yeah sorry I meant a proper slo blo should fix it. Corrected my previous post.

The slow blow is in and everything is good.

Indeed looks like some fast blows got mixed in stock. Had two of the same FTAL 250V pieces in my paramount kits. Oddly, the first amp powered up no problem. The second popped the fuse with all resistance checks in line. Hoping the issue is in fact the fuse... :)

This says that the fuses on Bottlehead equipment is well sized. It will open quickly, hopefully protecting components downstream from any problem.
