Title: New pair for the new listening room
Post by: Doc B. on October 23, 2019, 02:54:14 PM
I'm awaiting a set of binding posts to finish up the new set of Jagers I'm putting together for the new listening room at the new Bottleheadquarters. I am cheating just a bit in that I am using well broken in drivers from my original pair. That pair was a set of the original version cabinets which did not have the edge banding on the panels. Figured I should have the latest version in our demo room.

Funny story - the whole time I had the original pair running in the old listening room I was always bugged by some slight anomaly that I attributed to some inconsistency in the room or in my ears. The left speaker always seemed to have a wee bit more mid treble bite. When I pulled the drivers out to rehouse them in these new cabinets the reason became clear - I had forgotten to add the damping pads to the backside of the left tweeter horn. Duoh.

Once again, your ears have been confirmed as a reliable tool. May it always be so!

Cheers, Hank in Eugene, trying to find some time to build my Jaegers.
