Title: Eros 2 transformers for Sumiko Starling
Post by: cadarette on March 05, 2024, 11:21:10 AM
Hello - I just completed my first kit (Mainline), had a blast with it, and would like to get an Eros next. Can someone confirm the correct step-up transformer for my cartridge? I'm using a Sumiko Starling. Their website rates it as 28Ω internal impedance, >100Ω load impedance, and an output of 0.5mV. I'm thinking the Sowter 9570 would be correct? Also, would I need to order additional resistors as well? thank you

The 9570 should work well for that and will reflect a load of 470 ohms if you use the stock 47K resistors on the secondary.  The 1990 would also work just fine and it will give you the 1:20 option down the road if you end up changing cartridges.
