Ciao!
I've just stumble upon an ebay auction of Russian NOS 2P1P tubes.
Very cheap, and they say they are DL92 substitute (even if they are beam tetrode, but maybe once triode strapped...).
The datasheet looks promising and seem are pin-to-pin compatible:

Here's the link to the sale (no affiliation with the seller):

PS: I've also spotted an ad for Telefunken 3S4 at €4,99 a piece from ebay Germany! Hurry up!

The 2P1P specs a maximum filament voltage of 1.4V. A fresh D-cell battery is 1.57V. I don't know if this will matter in practice, but I'd maybe buy a pair or two and see how well they last.

I bought a pair for now.
Let's see how they perform, maybe they could be a cheap option for people who use rechargable batteries.
Anyway: still amused by the kit after all these years 8)

Yes, still I have mine, but too lazy to put the switch for the heater to try them...

Tried today.
They perform quite well, microphonic as usual but I'm quite satisfied with the sound.
Ciao!
