We flip the voltage so you can swap the tubes around to change the polarity of the voltage applied to the heaters (some argue that it's a good idea to switch this around now and then).

That's great that everything is up and running properly!

Moreplay / Moreplay Upgrade Finished
« Last post by AG on Today at 05:51:19 PM »
Hi to all.

Today I finished the Moreplay Upgrade.
with voltages of:
- 6.31 VDC (why is the other socket inverted?  ) in the filaments.
- 6U/16U 123.1 VDC
- B+ 184.5 VDC little spicy.

Everything was fine, instruction as usual top notch.

It is breaking in now and even using the stock tube (for first test) the sound really noticeable better.

Thank to all people involved new and former owners for this magnificent upgrade.

Cheers from Florida,

Andre.

Eros Phono / Re: Slight channel imbalance

I swapped out one of my RCA cables and the problem got better. After further testing I can’t discern any channel imbalance while something is playing. It’s only when there’s no active signal. I can live with that!

We use an Echo Dot and a smart outlet for hands free power control of our dining room system.

Maybe an indicator lamp would be enough to remind you that the amp is on? Might be a simple solution.

Can this be done?  Sure, I suspect this is quite possible.  The bigger questions will be how you plan to power it, where you're going to fit all that circuity, and how much noise it's going to add.

There is an older thread on DIYAudio discussing this which maybe of interest.

Eros Phono / Re: Input resistor change, to 150K

Thanks Paul!

Good to know you are still around to help us out.

Turns out Cinemag claims, at least in my last email communication with them a year or more ago, to wind custom step-ups.

Hopefully I can get a switchable 150-450 Ohm into 47k from them. Worst case 150-300 ohm, which I suppose I could lie with.

Then build them into the Eros 2 as planned.

After going through all the soldering joints cables , tapping on the chassis, tapping on the components, looking over the whole unit in detail I finally turned it over and pulled the tubes out reinserted them a number of time.
Not it works perfectly again.
Thank you all for your support.
By the way I used the Cardas solder.
