Hello all, got my eros kit yesterday, it's going well so far. There is one thing that concerns me, on one side of the PS board, ( the side with the 12000uf cap). After installing the heatsink there is so little room between the HS and the 12000uf cap that the bodies of the Schottky rectifiers are touching each other and one is touching the cap, and the other is touching the heatsink. Is this a problem? It is just the bodies, not the leads. If it is a problem can I just force some electrical tape in between the components? Thanks for any help.
Cheers,
Shawn

It's not a problem.

Thanks Paul!

Shawn,
I bent the lower, closest to the PCB, fin on one heat sink to be able to tighten up the nut when I mounted it. The aluminum is pretty easy to bend with a good pair of pliers.
I use an ignition set from Sears for all small nuts. See the "First Project Suggested Tools" in Technical Tools for a picture of them (I think).

Hey Grainger, I had to bend that fin as well, I was just worried that the rectifier bodies could have problems when touching other items. My PS and regulator voltage tests were all fine and I am wiring the 3 front sockets. Taking my time, trying to make it nice and clean.
Cheers,
Shawn

I assembled mine in about 7-10 sessions. I did a little at a time making it the way I wanted as I went, but it is still stock. I just can't take it out of the system for mods.
