Title: Hookup wire used in BH Kits
Post by: deltaunit on May 07, 2011, 09:46:46 AM
The ptfe single core wire in the BH kits is really very nice, what might I ask is it? More importantly what size/gauge is it?

Cheers

It could be that the wire supplied in the kits varies depending on availability etc.. But, my Crack kit came with Carol 20 awg solid core with PVC insulation. This wire is made by General Cable and I buy it from Digikey. Super easy to work with IMHO.

The wire in Crack and Stereomour is Carol PVC as ironbut says. The Teflon insulated wire in Paramount, FPIII and Eros is Alpha and it is a bit more expensive than the Carol wire.

The teflon covered wire is AWG 22.
