I'm using early (1952) vintage WE 396A/2C51s. I found them to be a little more dynamic then the Swedish Ericsson 2C51s they replaced. I posted about these a few months ago and Sr. member Aaron Johnson wrote:
"Hi Gerry. Give the 1950's GE 5670's a try along with the Bendix if you can find a pair. Both sounded better to me than the WE tubes and I have eight pairs of them."
A GE tube sounding better than a WE tube (of the same type) would be a first for me but I'm open to giving the GE tubes a try. Aaron, if you see this, I apologize for not replying to your suggestion. I assume there are different versions of the GE 5670, so if you could describe the version you like, I would appreciate it. A photo would be even better. Thanks!

There are currently lots of six NOS GE 5670 tubes available on eBay for $29.95 plus shipping. Those look like a very good deal to me at about $6.00 per tube after shipping. The seller has excellent feedback.
