Thanks for the orders! We have just a couple of items that are due in early next week that will allow us to get started on the assembly manual.

This looks very interesting!!

So what is the final ohm rating of the cans? The stock monoprice are low impedance. Not asking you to give away any secrets of construction but does the final phone end up with high(er) impedance?
Will it work on my headphone wired Quickie till my tax return gets me into a Crack?
Okay - read the other thread and see the impedance adjustment magic is in the cables. Does this make the phones lower in sensitivity? Any guess as to how low?

The headphone kit has been designed specifically to work with the Crack amp. The cans will come with the stock cables in the box, which would allow you to use them as stock with other amps. The stock cables are, IMO, not particularly good. The new cable has been set up to work with the Crack amp, which is the point of the kit.
Did I mention that this is a kit to go with the Crack amp? :)

Why should the crack addicts have all the fun, us sex addicts want in on the action too, and those who just want a little quickie fun :)

Dan,
This is great -- closed back is especially nice. Can I assume that the phone plug is a right angle?
Will be placing my pre-order shortly.

Hi Jim,
Yes it is a right angle plug.

I hope the Headphones are a great success for Bottlehead.
With international postage, import fees and then the exorbitant handling fees from our postoffice/parcel force on top, ordering one to the UK on an individual bases adds substantially to the cost.
Adding it to a combined purchase later makes more sense for me.

I'm curious how these would sound with a converted Quickie... Report back if you have one and are ordering the new phones.

Dense I am, and should be obvious I am pretty damn dense(ask my wife), a glimmer of light begins to glow. Think I am getting the hint. Crack first - will work with my old high impedance 'phones - THEN Bottleheadphone kit.
Thanks!

Will do ;)

The modified Quickie relies on high-ish impedance headphones that are also very sensitive.
IMO - what we have come up with is not a great match for a modified Quickie (very few headphones are).

I'm going to have to try these. Very, interested how they compare with the HD600/Crack combo. Which I beleive is perfect. Nice to have a closed bach headphone too.

Any status updates for shipping out the first batch?
-
We are doing the photography for the manual this week then I would guess that a week of writing will take place, then packing and shipping!
-
Hi all.
I don't know if I will be off topic and/or rude and/or impolite or all, but for now, the only way to see if those new headphones are better sounding than my HD-650 is to buy the new headphones, unless someone as already made the side by side comparison.
Anyone, any comments ?

Yeah, I'm not aware that any direct comparison was made.
During development, we did make our (that's generous, the Headphone kit was 99.5% Doc B.) decisions based on the sonic signature of the HD-800's, but at this time we do not have HD-580/600/650 in the office.
