Title: Get together
Post by: xcortes on September 25, 2010, 11:11:46 AM
Ok, so there was no official VSAC this year. I propose we do something informal where all Bottleheads both new school and old school can get together.

We could aim for the new Chatteau Bottlehead or somewhere else.

We can have audio or not. As long as Doc brings his Martinis and I bring my Tequilas.

Shoot your opinions!

On a somewhat related matter, how many folks here will be at RMAF this year
and would like to try to get a bottlehead gathering going?

I think that's a great idea Xavier!
I've been meaning to pay a visit to Bottlehead central for ever.
I was planning to make it to RMAF and hook up with the clan, but that doesn't seem like it's going to happen this year.
Once Doc gets totally settled into his new place, let's do it!

We have proposed an open house on October 22nd. I chose that date because Jacqui Naylor will be in town then. Unfortunately between this current trip to Chicago ( heading back today) and RMAF I don't see any way of getting the new place finished up enough to do a superdooper demo of a perfectly tuned room by then. However I think we can have a fun evening if folks are willing to check out a work in progress. And then perhaps we can plan another get together later on when we have the place complete - maybe after the holidays?

As for RMAF, I will be there, as will the Queen, PB, Romo and Paul Stubblebine. We will be rolling tape on my Nagra and showing a new phono stage being used in a vinyl to high res digital transfer setup in a room sponsored by Maier Shadi, Tim Marutani and Magico. We will also have a S.E.X. amp set up in the Sonic Studio room for folks to plug their personal cans into to audition Amarra. I imagine there might be a Crack or two showing up in the Head-Fi room as well.

Excellent -- I'm looking forward to meeting all you folks there.

BTW Coc, I keep meaning to ask you who it was that was with you in the room back in 2004?

Thanks,

Jim

Hey Jim,

That was Chuck McCalment, aka Air. Chuck was kind enough to volunteer to help me out that year.

I'd be more inclined to go "after the holidays". Maybe early February?
