Title: Is this resistor fried?
Post by: Happy Ghost on July 14, 2022, 09:47:50 AM
Hello,

I've a quick question. I am at the second step in Page 54 of the manual. I think, I might've I applied too much solder to the joint (see attached pic). When I measure the resistance across the middle and rearlug of the balance pot, it is only 1.6 ohms. Should I replace the resistor?

Thanks!

okie.. this might've been a false alarm. Turning the balance pot the whole way has brought the reading to a more respectable 24 kilo ohms .. which should be fine ...

It would take a lot of heat to kill that resistor.  What you're seeing is flux from your solder.

Hello Paul,

I completed the Moreplay build and was doing the resistance check. Right off the bat I noticed that the resistance between terminal 23 and ground is 22 ohms (see pic). The rest of the resistances checked out OK. But anything from terminal 23 to the chassis or the ground solder lugs comes out to 22 ohms almost instantly. Any idea what has gone wrong..

Thanks!
