Title: Mainline Resistance check [resolved]
Post by: monteiro.sheldon on May 27, 2022, 04:08:23 PM
Hello,

I just finished the Mainline build and ran through the resistance checks,
Eveything is fine except for 19 & 22.

The manual says "*" or in Mega Ohms, i am getting a fixed reading around 270K.
Do I have some issue with the build.

Searching the formus I see someone else had around 218K,
https://forum.bottlehead.com/index.php?topic=12728.msg116349#msg116349

Wanted to make sure its ok before I power it up and go through the voltage checks.

Thanks
Sheldon M

That isn't a problem.  Your meter is resolving the resistors that would be present there despite other components sitting in there messing with the value.  Technically the 218K measured by the other builder would be correctly measuring the parts present, the 270K would be indicating the presence of the correct parts and other components throwing the value off, and OL tends to indicate a meter that isn't quite sure there's a resistor there to measure ;)
