Title: Trumpet pieces
Post by: rockpassion on November 11, 2016, 04:25:43 PM
Hello everyone,

Every once in a while I enjoy good modern trumpet pieces.  I have a number of Herb Alpert which I enjoy alot, also Chuck Mangione who I think blows a great easy horn, really enjoy listening to him.  But at the top of my list is Wynton Marsalis.  I just finished listening to Carnival.  It is a lot of different songs but he does such a wonderful interpretation it is just really enjoyable to listen.  Additionally, the recording quality, in my opinion, is top notch even though it is a digital recording.  So, if anyone is looking for a very good trumpet recording (great orchestra backing also) I would recommend this LP.

Regards to all,

Richard

Doc,

Good one.  Boy, I will be careful how I phrase things in the future.  But, it did make me laugh.

Not Herb Alpert but worth exploring if your tastes get into this region. Ibrahim Maalouf.
