Title: Tube clearance
Post by: denti alligator on March 13, 2021, 10:12:28 AM
I may be moving my Stereomour to a shelf in a media unit where there would be not too much room above the tubes, maybe about 1/2-3/4” or so. Is that enough?

A lot depends on the airflow at that point.  It's possible if the air was very still and the finish was somewhat delicate that you could cause some damage to your media unit.

It would be open in front, but not in back, so maybe not ideal. It’s a cheap IKEA unit, so I don’t mind a little damage, so long as it doesn’t catch on fire.

If it's a cheap Ikea unit, drill some holes in it above where the tubes are.

That would be the top of the unit, so that’s a no go. I’ll just put in on top and forget about it.
