Title: Quickie on the fritz-- help needed
Post by: denti alligator on June 28, 2017, 12:03:45 PM
Quickie 1.0 with PJCCS has been running fine for many months. Today it stopped. Voltages  for left channel are off. I'm not getting anything at A7, for instance. Shouldn't I be getting some voltage from the D battery? Could it be that the battery holder is not working? (It looks fine.)

I've reflowed most of the joints, swapped out tubes, and changed batteries.

Measure the DC voltage on the offending channel between pins 1 and 7 on the tube socket itself.  That will tell you if the 1.5V D cells are heating that tube.

I went to do these measurements and everything seems to be working fine. Very, very strange.

You likely moved an intermittent connection that needs a little more heat from the old soldering iron.
