Do you have any sound?

The 2a3's in my Paramounts don't glow very bright.  Especially with the lights on

Hi Deb.  Didn't get that far.  Like you said, some DIY Audio posters observed that the Sovtek 2A3's filaments are kind of hidden and don't glow much. So, I'm going to turn the thing back on and check the voltages. I was afraid that I'd really screwed something up, and so I powered down before doing anything else.

Good luck with it. I bet you are fine.
Let us know what happens

Well, all the voltages check out, except for terminals 2 and 14, which read 190 and 194 instead of 230. That's a bit beyond 15%, but I'm guessing (hoping?) that variance is not critical.

Following a short mindless break,  8) I'll lower it into the base and see if it makes music.

That particular variance is not at all unusual, and it's also not a problem.

 ;D ;D

Hooked up the just-unboxed Orcas, fired up the amp, and put Keith Jarrett's 'My Song' into the Oppo 93.

Voila! Nothing is burned in yet, and I'm already hearing farther into this disc than I ever did with my (former) Rega Brio-R and Maggie MMGs.  As my 13-year old gamer son would say, Happy Face!

Thank you Doc, Paul, PB and the whole crew. This is great.

Congratulations, it will only get better as it breaks in.
Love the Orca's with my 2a3 Paramounts

Happy New Years and enjoy the music

Thanks Deb!! (Fantastic system you have there, BTW. How do you like the Dynavector HOMC with the Eros?)

The Dynavector cartridge sounds great with the Eros.  A real bargain to get into MC cartridges.
Very happy with the Dynavector/Sota/Eros combination
