Hi,

Sorry, but the 6dn7 is the only tube that will work in the s.e.x. amp (though with some modifications you can use the 6em7 and 6ea7.)  The 6dn7 is a dual dissimilar triode meaning that it has a small signal triode on one side and a power triode on the other.  The 6sn7 is a dual triode for small signals and is identical on both sides and will not work in the s.e.x. d

Hope this helps,

Jim

6FJ7 has identical operating characteristics to 6DN7, but it is in a duodecar "compactron" package.
Might be a  good one to use  in a highly  modified unit, or a "clone" design.  Not worth changing a perfectly good working unit, however,  as there will be no real improvement.
