I'm seriously considering pulling the trigger on a Beepre and a set of Paramounts.  The thing is, I'd like to put the amps next to my speakers and the Beepre in the corner of the room.  This would result in interconnects about 20 feet long between the amps and preamp...  Would this be a problem?

No problem. The low output impedance of the BeePre allows it to drive long cables easily.

Great, I was hoping to hear that.  Thanks Doc!

If I may, I have another somewhat silly question.

I currently use the Stereomour and am quite happy with it, but I've decided to divest myself of so much gear, and sell off what I have to go to only one system.

My question is this, going from the Stereomour to the Paramounts (2A3 for example) and a BeePre, would the 10db of gain that the BeePre provides be equivalent to a 10db increase in efficiency of loudspeakers (all other things equal)?

The increased gain just means the volume control would be set lower for the same listening level. From the standpoint of where the volume control is set it would somewhat (but not really) seem like increasing the sensitivity of the speakers, but not the efficiency.  For more loud from your speakers you have to put more power into them, like a 300B Paramount. That would buy you 3dB more output.

That makes sense.

What about the idea of running a stereo pair of subwoofers from the second set of outputs?  Would there be any issues at all with using the preamp this way?

Also, and this is more of a philosophical question I suppose, but is it just wrong to run a SET amp with HE horns and a pair of subwoofers at the same time?   8)

Another interconnect question.  Do the L-Shaped plugs on the bottlenects fit into the recessed RCA plugs of the BeePre or is a conventional plug suggested?

The right angle plugs fit very well.
