Title: Some questions at starting the soldering job.
Post by: Strikkflypilot on February 01, 2015, 05:39:10 PM
Hi.

I was just wondering, when soldering the grounds to the transformers, to make it clean , I have twisted the three cables going from the ground screw and used shrink tubing, letting one by one leave the twist as the ground buss passed Ot(c) , PT, an finally one left for OT(a).  Sounds ok?

And the wiring of the PT5, is it ok to solder the drain wire to the ground screw instead of the E of the IEC?

That should be ok.

Having the drain wire connect to the "E" lug will keep that piece of STP in a good position.  If all the connections are off to its left, it may work its way left, which isn't very desirable.

Thanks PB

So I understand it is a mechanical issue.
I have another zip tie down mount for that.
