Title: J. S. Bach - Suites For Solo Cello - Boris Pergamenschikow performing
Post by: Natural Sound on April 30, 2017, 07:51:09 AM
I have to admit that I'm not exactly a classical music aficionado. However there are times when it suits my mood perfectly. This morning was one of those times. I had a very hectic Saturday and wanted to start my Sunday off slowly. I recently ripped "Suites for Solo Cello" to my music server. I hadn't had a chance to listen to the CD for some time but I recall it being mellow without being boring. So here I sit, with a fine cup of coffee, some toast with marmalade and a big smile on my face. Audio path is Linux Music Server, BH DAC > FPIII > Paramour II's running 45's > Orca's + Orca subs.  :)

Oh, that's a rabbit hole. Now you have to compare with performances by Casals, Starker, Rostropovich, Schiff, Bylsma, Queyras, Fournier, Gendron, Beschi, Bailey...theres a zillion of 'em and it's very enlightening to hear the different interpretations.
