Title: Eros VS Parasound Halo JC3+
Post by: JeRo#sb77 on August 03, 2017, 04:07:00 PM
Recently had the opportunity to listen to a friend's JC3+ and compare to my Eros. Was pleasantly surprised to find that while the JC3+ is indeed a superb phono stage, the Eros is very close indeed!

JC3 had a little more solid soundstage and noticeably better mid-bass definition. I think the Eros makes vocals sound more human and that's probably the tubes talking.

Bottom line: Love the Eros. Great sounding, looks cool and allows tube rolling fun.

System: Odyssey Khartago Stereo amp/Rogue RP-1 Pre/Empire Turntable w/Zu Denon 103 cart/Jamo Concert 8 speakers

Very interesting comparison! Particularly, since a new JC3+ is ~4X more expensive.

Thanks for the kind words. I have much respect for John Curl's design chops.
