Title: Hissing BeePre
Post by: elko on August 13, 2017, 10:24:48 AM
Since i fixed my humming problem in my left channel. I noticed another noise from the left channel only. In the left channel there's always a hissing noise present. I really want to get rid of it because its noticable in quiet parts of music. What steps do i need to take to diagnose the problem. Should i do a complete voltage & resistance check and find out of there are any differences in the left and right side? The right channel is dead quiet.

Best regards

Are you sure it's from the BeePre?  Swapped sources/channels/tubes?  If your BeePre measures within spec, check your source and amp for amplified background or interference being picked up.

I turns out to be one of the tubes. Feel a bit stupid that i havn't checked first. Thought it was obvious there was something amiss with the left part the circuit since the hum came from there to.
Thanks for helping me out!

Sometimes a few hours of running time will do a lot to quiet down a tube (even a new one).
