Title: Installed speedball now everything is wonky [resolved]
Post by: B13B3R on December 30, 2017, 09:31:00 AM
Before installing speedball all my voltages and resistances where acceptable except that the rca pins read no resistance, but i was told that was fine.

7 and 9 not reading a resistance voltage as well as b3, b6 and still both rca jacks center pins

I dont believe i damaged anything but i plugged it in briefly even though i defiantly shouldn't have.
All Leds are functional
T1 7.5 v
t2 202v

after getting those 2 voltages i unplugged it asap

I tested oa and ob on the speedball and neither show any reading for resistance

Measuring the resistance at terminals 7 and 9 is not part of the installation instructions on the Speedball.

Did you put the first small PC board on and then do the voltage tests before proceeding?

the small boards voltages are all fine and well, ignore everything else i said before i was looking at a different manual because i'm a doofus.

Oa reads 110-120 on the big board and ob reads 120-135
their is heavy static on the right channel and occasional cut out in sound

Did you listen to the Crack before proceeding with the big board?  A cutout in sound will generally be accompanied by a change in voltage.

One test that can be popular is to poke around the circuit with a wood chopstick with some inexpensive headphones plugged in.  That can help you find the problematic joint(s).

I had it assembled already but was having problems, i just re soldered every joint and that did the trick. Thanks  :D
