Title: seduction problem
Post by: Ed Faulkner on June 11, 2018, 05:31:31 PM
I have a Seduction phono stage (with CCS) that has a low level motorboat sound at very low levels. I have already changed PS caps and the sound persists, anyone else experienced this issue?

Have you tried different tubes?

Several different tubes and brands have been tried.

How are your voltage checks?

Did you also replace the heater supply cap, or just the high voltage caps?

Voltages all good, heater supply cap also replaced. I need to dig in with a scope and isolate a few things, was hoping someone else had a similar issue I could shortcut from. The thing still sounds great but does not have a black background at high volume, most music swamps the sound. Will dig up the schematic again (somewhere in the shop) and plan a next move. Might even get another kit to use while fixing this one, I hate being without good sound...

Clean the tube pins and sockets really well, and inspect the film caps for damage.
