Title: Mullard Flash

Hi,
I just got a Mullard 12AU7 and upon powering up, I see a orange flash at the bottom of the tube. I was a bit startled the first time. A bit of research seem to indicate this is normal behavior, and the cause is due to an initial surge of current through the a filament. But I'm wondering if this current surge would in any way harm the power transformer.

No. This is perfectly normal tube behavior.
