Hello,
I have speakers on both sides of a fireplace and want to run the speaker wire and rca cables thru the wall. Found some in-wall rated speaker wire and rcas, but was wondering if someone can tell me how far they should be from a fireplace flue? Thank you,
Dave

Hi,
I am an A/V contractor and pull a LOT of wire.
If the wire , of which you speak, is double insulated and has a CL3 rating as long as it isn't touch the flue
you will be fine. 6" to 1' is plenty of distance.
Hope my answer is helpful. Although, I have a feeling you have already installed it.
But, maybe now you will have no worries.

Thanks for the response! The wire is rated CM/CL3. I'll have to cut a hole in the wall and snake it thru :)

I think I'd be using a length of PVC pipe with a couple of neat speaker ports to tidy up the holes. Wires would then be loose and easy to manage.
