Title: GOT IT DONE
Post by: mpribble on January 31, 2019, 04:49:13 AM: So got it done it was fun haven't done speedball yet I have it will do down the road at some point. Sounds good have to get use to it never had a tube amp before. Going to listen to for a bit might try different tubes not sure yet on that(wouldn't know which ones to get anyway).

This thing gets very loud at about 9 o'clock on volume guess I need to turn down volume on computer. Was wondering what big tube I have all I can find on it is RCA 6A57 and 7552 which one is it?

Post by: mpribble on February 02, 2019, 03:06:05 AM: Did it with a router. The base was the hardest part to get the look i wanted. Had about three costs of poly and I goofed so I sanded it back down and started over. So now there is i think 8 or so costs of poly.

have you see the crack FAQ on how to add the 75k/33k resistors to the pot to attenuate the signal a bit more? I had the same issue with not being able to turn past ~8 and it also having the issue of poor l\r matching at these lower levels. Doing this did the trick.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to hammer out that mod, but it might help?

You'd think after trying to find that picture/how-to on at least on 3 different prior occasions I'd remember it was in the FAQ....but no, not even today. Probably not tomorrow either ;)
