Thinking ahead to my upcoming Kaiju build, and having struggled to get the EML 300B tube (1.3A filament draw) to work in my Beepre, I wonder if there are any "mods" I can/should make when putting together the Kaiju -- and specifically, the DC Filament upgrade.
In particular, would there be any potential benefit to using Schottky diodes that have lower forward voltage drop than the MBRF745 diodes? On paper, the IXYS diode that I used in the Beepre has lower Vf. Datasheets for both are attached (not knowing the make of the MBRF745, I went with the Vishay datasheet - not sure if there are differences between manufacturers).
Many thanks, Derek

There shouldn't be any issue in the Kaiju.

Many thanks PB. So, just be clear, you are saying that there would be no benefit to squeezing a bit more voltage out of the DC filament rectifier stage, right?

Nope, just plug them in and use them.
