Hi guys,
I have a question re. proper grounding in the Crack when I swap in the Valab stepped attenuator. The attenuator came with an upside down PCB, and I determined the proper layout using the method described by Paul in another post. As the PCB does not have lugs, the holes will take only one of the standard sized wires, and I had to use one of the thinner wires to bridge the two grounds on the Valab. Now the manual calls for a ground connection from the volume pot to the center pin of the 9-pin socket. The volume pot is already grounded through a wire from the pot to 3L. As I won't fit another wire onto the Valab, I was wondering if I could wire the center pin of the 9-pin socket to 3L instead of the Valab to provide that ground connection?
Thanks in advance for your insight.
Cheers,
FS

That is how the original version of the Crack is wired. It piles up connections at 3L that can get in the way of one of the standoffs for the Speedball, but otherwise it will work just fine.
