I am installing the speedball but I am confused by the instructions. For mounting the heat sinks to the board it says on page 25 "snap the post of the heat sink into the corresponding holes. In my installation I soldered them to the board already but I noticed there is a tiny gap between the actual circuit board and the heat sink. Was I supposed to force the heat sink into the board and it would "click" into place, or is it mounted essentially a millimeter above the board fine? Thanks!

I just installed my Speedball yesterday so I can help you out.
No “click†when putting the heat sink on the board. When you insert the heat sink + TIP-50 transistor into Q2A & Q2B everything should slide into the correct places. The legs of your heat sink should come out the other side of the board, and then you solder the legs to the board for stability.
You can always post some pics so that we can confirm that your PC board looks correct.
**I added a picture of my heat sinks

You're good. The important thing (besides properly mounting the correct transistor to the heatsink) is that you get the posts of the heatsink soldered to the board. If the posts slipped into the post holes easily -- i.e., with little to no friction -- you want to make sure the posts are well-soldered so that the weight of the heatsink is supported by the posts not the legs of the transistors.
