Hi everyone, after years of lurking I have finally taken the plunge and ordered a 3.0 kit. My initial voltage check should 120 v AC coming into the IEC. But my secondary test on page 35 is only showing 4 volts max at position 7 on the PT. Interestingly, the reading is 0.0 if I have the red probe tip on position 9 as instructed with the black probe on 7. As soon as I remove the red probe, the meter starts reading and tops out at 4 volts.
I have gone back over my connections and everything seems to be in order after reheating all of the terminals. Thoughts?

To measure those voltages, you must have one probe on 7 and the other probe on 9.
If your meter has a limited number of AC voltage scales, it may not be able to resolve 6V. This would be true of something like the $6 meter at Harbor freight that has a 200V and a 700V AC scale. 6V just isn't significant enough to be read accurately.
I would perform the second test that measures the 160V winding. If you are unable to measure 160V, then there is something that needs to be addressed.

Thank you Paul. It could be my meter for sure, it was very inexpensive. I attempted the check with the probes on terminals 11 and 12 and still not working. I only get a reading with one probe in place again, when both are in place the meter zeros out.
I am including a photo of the work so far in case there is something glaringly obvious to anyone!
Thanks
Andrew

Yes, you have a wiring error at the IEC power entry module.

AH!!! I see!, thank you I will correct this when I get home this afternoon and re-check voltages!
-
THANK YOU!
I corrected my wiring on the IEC and my voltages are now in range! I will now progress ahead ;D

Thanks again Paul for your help, I have now completed my build! I am running my final voltage checks (resistance checks were all good), and I am getting no reading on terminal 17. Everything else checks out. Solder joint looks good, all connections look good. Scratching my head here! Any thoughts?

What voltage do you get on 25?
-
13.5 v
-
Ok, 25 connects to pin 10 on the OT-2, check the voltage there.
Pin 10 on the OT-2 is wired to pin 5 on the OT-2, check the voltage there.
Pin 10 on the OT-2 is wired to terminal 17.
All these terminals should show that 13.5V.

Had a mis wired connection, all is now correct and reading 13.5 v (in DC)
