I am having issues getting my tube in the nine pin socket. I think I over soldered the tab A4, and it flowed into the hole. I removed the wire and it does not move at all either. Does anyone know of a trick to getting the solder out? I have tried the wick and the solder sucker to no avail. I'm starting to feel as though it's ruined and I need to order a new one? Please help. Thank you greatly in advance for any help.

Try using gravity. Don't desolder with the socket upside down, it will just continue to build up on the surfaces where the pins insert. Flip the chassis over and raise it up well so you can get the iron underneath and get the solder to run down out of the pin part of the terminal. If that doesn't work we can sell you a new socket.

Thank you so much sir. That is a great idea!

If you have an air compressor with a blower or a can of dust off, you can get that pin super hot, then blow compressed air into the socket where the pin would go, and sometimes that can force it out. Some solder may fly out and hit you in the process, but it won't hurt too badly ;)

You are wearing safety glasses, right?

Thanks for the input guys. I followed Docs advice and it worked. I'm getting much better at soldering so hopefully it doesn't happen again.
