Hi All,
I recently finished building a Crack with Speedball and enjoyed the build a lot. It was my first build and while my soldering skills have improved I could still use more experience. I’m thinking about what kit to try next. I’m thinking about either the moreplay or the sex experimenters kit. I’d be using the moreplay with a Decware se84ufo amp & if I went with the sex I’d use it as a headphone amp with my lower impedance cans. Which kit is easier to build? I don’t want to bite off too much for my second build.

The Moreplay is a pretty easy build but the S3X amp is likely a lot more useful for what you have going on. You can also use the S3X amp as a preamp, so what it would come down to in my mind is whether you need the three inputs.

Thanks for the tips Paul. I now have some food for thought. Would I have to do anything different to use the S3x as a preamp? I don’t need three inputs but it might be nice to have two pairs of rca outputs. Would this be possible with either the S3x or Moreplay?

There is plenty of room on the S3X chassis to drill 2 holes for an extra set of outputs.

You can just use a pair of banana to RCA cables out of the speaker jacks.

Thanks everyone, I’ve got some ideas. Now I just have to decide.

This is fabulous news about pre-amping with an S3X. I need a pre-amp to pair with an Emotiva XPA-2 power amp, and also something to drive HiFiman HE6se and Beyer DT-1990 Pro phones. I am incredibly happy with my Crack/SB. How is the availability of S3X? Thank you!
