Title: Headphone for the Crack

Hi everybody

I am new in the forum and I am seriously considering the Bottlehead Crack.

What do you recommend for the Crack: Beyerdynamic DT 880 with 250 ohms impedance or 600 ohms impedance?

Any advantage of having a higher impedance?

I know the Sennheiser DH650 is 300 ohms and seems to be THE reference but the price is way more than the Beyerdynamic.

If you're looking at picking up a used set, I would buy whichever is available locally for the best price.  The used prices are stable enough that you could buy them both and sell the ones you like less.

Look for Massdrop X Sennheiser HD 6XX on ebay. Seen some new for $180.

They are identical to HD-650.

Perfect match for Crack.

Crack will drive the DT-880 at 250 ohms with no issue.

DT-880 vs. HD650...
My personal pick would be DT-880 since I like the very open Beyer sound, currently using T1 2nd gen. But some will find the sound signature too aggressive..
