Title: Moreplay with Amplifier question
Post by: henderan on April 06, 2022, 06:01:51 AM
I am considering getting the Moreplay preamp and use my existing Outlaw Audio 2200 amplifiers with it.  I hear about "matching" a preamp with its amp.  Is there anything I need to be concerned about ?

Spec says input impedance ">10K" so there should be no problem of impedance matching. Depending on the sensitivity of your speakers, the gain might be a little high, making for a hair-trigger volume control, but there are ways to deal with that.

Yeah, you will probably want to reduce the system gain eventually. We can deal with that when the time comes; it's easily handled.

What are you using now? I would expect any system with 200-watt amps driving Heresy speakers would have a hair-trigger volume control  :^)
