Hi there!
I'm considering the purchase of a BEYERDYNAMIC DT990 Edition (600 Ohms). Any feedback on that one? Should I go for it ( I can have it for $110 new) or would I be much better off with a Sennheiser HD650 (which is twice that price)?
I don't have any Bottlehead product yet, I have an ASUS Xonar Essence One Muses DAC/AMP.
Thanks!

I think you'd have to ask over on Head-fi to see if anybody has experience with those specific combinations.
The Xonar is advertised as being able to drive high impedance headphones and is measured at about 7V of output with 11 ohms of output impedance. That would honestly drive a very, very wide variety of headphones, and I wouldn't consider it necessary to buy 600 ohm headphones to pair with that.
For a tight budget, a used pair of HD-580s can often be found for not a ton of money.

I was asking here with the idea to buy soon a Bottlehead product in the back of my head. Would it work with those DT990s?
Thanks for your answer Paul!

Yes, the 990 at 600 ohms would be a nice pairing with a Crack without spending a ton of money.

Thanks a lot Paul, I think I'm gonna go for it!

I have a DT880 600 ohm with a crack+speedball. They're amazing and I've been very happy with the combo for the past two years.
The DT880 or the 990 are very sturdy and built like a tank.
If I were to change my setup in any way, I would look at making my computer more quiet because of the open backed design of the headphones.

Thanks a lot for your input!
