I just install the speedball, and I do not have sound in the left ears, I did have sound in the left ear before the instalation. All voltage test on the small board pass but on the big board the voltage is higher
OA = 127
OB = 133
G = 0
B+ = 220
The LED are on
-
That is unlikely to cause one channel to not work. What are the small board voltages? Can you post some build photos?
-
Now some DEL are not turning on. Those DEL were turning bright red as soon as a plugged the power, while the other we slowly turning on. Now they do not.
-
small board voltage
OA = 87
IA = 204
B- A/B = 0
IB = 204
OB = 76

Your 2N2222 does not appear to be properly installed.
-
Did the fix, but no LED lights. I redid all the solder on the board. Still no LED lights.
Voltage still the same
-
Can I see what the bottom of the big Speedball board looks like?
-
Here it is

Close up of the 2n2222 connection

If you are using lead free solder, get some solder with lead. If you are using leaded solder, you need more heat to get solid solder joints.
-
I give up, I resolder everything for the 5th time and the LED are just not ligthing up. I m using solder with lead in it, and i did apply more heat, yet i still have the same issue
-
Here is the latest solder
-
I would replace the 2N2222 that was improperly installed just to be safe, as it may not have survived its previous installation. Also be aware that the center legs of the TIP50 transistors take a lot of heat to solder properly.
-
It just keeps getting worse. Now one of the LED that was working before does not work anymore. I have not touched any soldering on that side.
-
Ok i talked to a professional and he did confirm that the 2N2222 was busted. I got a replacement but we cannot get it solder properly because I made a mess of the circuit board. Is it possible for me to order another one with some replacement pieces ?
-
by the way, I reverted back to pre speedball so I can wait for the replacement part
-
Yes, you can e-mail replacementparts(at)Bottlehead(dot)com to request a replacement large Speedball PC boards and parts to populate it.
