Title: Noise in left channel [resolved]
Post by: benzxc on June 13, 2023, 11:01:11 AM
So I've had my crackhead with speedball for quite some time. Recently, the left channel has become noisy, especially when I or the headphone cables move. The left channel would make noises, or sometimes even go silent, from the smallest of movements.

Attached are a few build photos.

Thanks in advance.

I would try the headphones on another amp, perhaps the cable is damaged. And it cant hurt to spray a short blast of plastic safe contact cleaner into the headphone jack and plug and unplug the headphones in and out a few times to clean the contacts of oxidation.
Also pull the tubes and clean the pins and a shot of cleaner into the sockets. I use Deoxit D05, it's safe.

Could I see the wiring at your headphone jack?

The joint where the black wires meet may not be completely capturing both black wires.
