Title: Impedance Matching Network
Post by: jminassi on February 15, 2024, 10:10:52 AM
Does the Pipettes speaker kit come with any kind of network such as an impedance matching network?  In the product photos if you look at the open speaker it looks to me like there are electronics attached to the top panel.

Can a 300B amplifier with approximately 8 watts per channel output be used to safely drive the Pipettes?  I built an Elekit TU-8600 integrated with the Lundahl output transformer upgrade.

Thanks,

John

There is no need for an impedance compensation network with these drivers. I know because I tried one. The drivers are rated for 5 watts max. So you can use an 8 watt amp as long as you are judicious with the level control.
