Title: Moreplay input voltage questions
Post by: Tuco on June 15, 2024, 05:37:45 AM
While I’m waiting on a Moreplay to arrive, I’ve started work to build a DAC that has an output voltage around 6 volts.  Is a 6 volt input voltage acceptable for the Moreplay?  If this is a potential problem, are there Moreplay modifications that could or should be implemented to address the problem?

Thanks!

Wow, that is spicy! That will be 8.4V peak, but will dip down to 5V peak through the balance control, so you have plenty of headroom remaining.

That is exactly what I said!

It doesn’t sound like you think a 6 volt input voltage will result in a magic blue smoke escaping event, so it full speed ahead on the DAC… though I might get the parts to reduce the Moreplay output gain for lower volume listening since the power amp has plenty of flex.

Thanks!
