Title: Vertical wall mount?
Post by: smittyny on November 08, 2024, 03:50:22 PM
Are there any technical reasons not to mount a Moreplay preamp vertically on a wall? It is a piece of art, after all.  ;D
Assuming I secure the faceplate so it doesn't fall off, will the 6v6 work horizontally? Enough airflow?

I took a quick look at the 6v6 rca manual but didn't see anything on orientation.

You have to be kind of careful doing this with tubes that have suspended filaments like 2A3s, 300Bs, 45s, 845s, 211s, etc, but a 6V6 isn't going to care about that.  Be sure to maintain a gap between the wood base and the wall so that air can move around and circulate inside the chassis, which is critical.
