Hey everyone, it's been a minute! Guess ya'll have been off enjoying music or something 8) Has anyone ever come across an issue when listening to your dac and music just cuts out? On my Windows 11 pc I'll be listening to some music (either the youtube music app or itunes) then suddenly there is an audible beep thru the headphones, then sound cuts out. How can this be fixed? The "solution" at least temporarily is to unplug the usb, then plug it back in, which brings back sound. The DAC is the audioengine d1, which only uses windows sound drivers (there's no specific driver offered from audioengine). Ideas?

I would get a USB to toslink interface and feed that into your DAC. I think the beep you're hearing is an error with the driver and windows is disabling the device.

Thanks, found this for $23 on Amazon, should do the trick.

disable USB power management, change audio settings, update/reinstall USB drivers, use a different USB port/cable, check for driver conflicts, and install Windows updates. Let me know if it works!

Thanks, perfect timing! My computer was getting unlistenable. Couldn't even get thru one song anymore lol. Changed the usb power settings, now i've gotten thru multiple songs. 8)

This issue got better for a while, now the dac is cutting out again. Is there anything else that can be done on the software side? Not sure i'm ready to pull the trigger on a optical to usb interface as a lot of the ones i've seen limit the bit rate and such. Currently running a Windows 11 update, after that i'll probably look to see if there are new USB drivers for this computer (a Lenovo Ideapad 1).

How old is this DAC that you're using?

I think we bought it in 2016, an Audioengine D1. Pretty sure it's still a current model. No issues running in Windows 10, issues have been creeping up since buying a Windows 11 computer. Maybe time to contact Audioengine. Thanks for the help though!

I would definitely put this DAC on a different computer before doing anything else.
