Title: Want to replace the 3 ps caps in my Foreplay ll, what are nice replacements?
Post by: hron61 on January 08, 2025, 08:27:06 PM
My Foreplay ll is 21 years old now and would like to replace the 3 power supply caps.
They are the Panasonic THSA 220uF 200V caps.
Since they are long gone what are the next best caps that would be a great replacement these days?
Brand, Series and a part number would be appreciated. Thanks.

I haven't really seen failures in the Panasonic snap-in caps from that time period, and I have a lot of old electronics come across my bench that use those.  Still, look for a new cap that's got at least a 10,000 hour at 105C lifetime rating.

Sounds like a pretty good choice using them in the foreplay back then.
I figured after 21 years they are nearing end of life.
The foreplay sat idle for 18 of those years while life happened so they dont really have many miles on them.

Either of these would be fine.  The leaded caps are a lot easier to work with, but the snap-in caps will look more stock.
