Title: Bee2Quiet / C4S Question
Post by: Tim G. on May 11, 2025, 03:32:49 AM
I just started working on the ccs and attenuator upgrade, and I usually start with just making sure everything mechanically goes together before I wire anything up.   I just mounted the 2 nylon stand offs and the c4s board (I did have the board populated) and I noticed the heat sinks stick out about 1/4" past the bottom of the base and it won't sit flat.  Do I need to just install the feet I'm planning, or is something amiss?  The standoffs measure 1 1/2" like the parts list mentions, but I'm not sure about the heatsinks, they may look a little taller than the manual pics?

Thanks
Tim

The rubber feet that go on the wood base are not optional components.  If you are using the wood base without the rubber feet, then things are going to get super hot on the inside.  Having the heatsink protrude like that is a good way to ensure that the feet are stuck on, and if they aren't, the board will push the chassis plate up a bit out of the base and make a new cooling slot on its own ;)

Nice, a built in safeguard!  I figured it was something like that everything looks like it should.  I just usually wait until the very end to install any feet, I’ll just move them up the list.

Thanks
