Title: Doc B selling large (classical) portion of LP and tape collection
Post by: Doc B. on July 09, 2025, 11:48:09 AM
Posted with Jameson’s permission -

We are moving out of our old office space and I realize my software collection has grown to proportions that won’t fit back in our house. I needed to do a little self reflection and realized my collection of around 300 pre recorded classical reel to reel tapes and 400+ mostly classical LPs won’t get much play time. So I would like to sell it to someone who would appreciate it. If you spend any time at record shops you know classical software is waaay undervalued. In acknowledgement of this I am asking $1000 for this entire collection, basically $1 each for the LPs and $2 each for the tapes. Some of these tapes are listed at $20-30 each. And I will include around 50 books and magazines on tube electronics and hifi. I need the stuff taken away ( not gonna ship) by the last week of July.  And I’m not interested in cherry picking, as this is a space issue, not a need money thing.  Email me at [email protected] and we can arrange a time for you to come see it.

As much as I would love spending hours and hours looking up the price for each and every album and spending the next 15 years listing these on ebay,  finding packing material and going to the post office, I've decided to just give this pile of classical recordings away.

Come and get it gang. ping me at [email protected]
We need to be out of our space soon, so this goes up on FB marketplace tomorrow if I don't get a solid "yes I will be there to pick it all up at ____"

Would love to come by your location and peruse your vinyl  collection of classical records.  I was there approximately a year ago and bought some of your r  2 r  recordings, not interested in any more of those.  You didn’t have any vinyl  out on that occasion.   Am particularly interested in Ormandy/Philadelphia Orchestra, Bernstein./NY Phil, anything with Ashkanazy,  Chanticleer, some Beethoven titles,   I am in Sequim, easy to get to your location.  If you’re interested in letting me look over your vinyl and piecemeal your collection,, buy some of your music,  you don’t have to give it away, let me know.  Jim.  [email protected]
