Title: Is this a short circuit or normal?
Post by: Gauss on April 03, 2011, 02:35:43 PM
I started building my crack. I'm at page 19. While I read for shorts with my multimeter I found pins 4 and 5 from the transformer to read as a short and 0 ohms. Is this a normal reading because of the transformer nature or do I have a short circuit that must be fixed?

Thanks!

Hi,

That is the filament heater supply, and yes, it should be very close to a short circuuit on the PT3 transformer.

You should be goo to go.

Well, the last step on page 19 is to ground transformer terminal 4.  You should read close to zero ohms between transformer terminals 4 and 5 or zero from 4 to ground and near zero from 5 to ground.
