Hello forum members,
I've assembled my first bottlehead kit...a Crack. 1. -- I have uncovered two issues. 2. -- The 6080WC does not heat. Most of my terminal voltage readings are wrong. I have measured:
1 245 2 245 4 245 5 90 13 245 15 229 21 239
A1 90 A3 1.5 A6 90 A8 1.5
B1 245 B2 245 B4 90 B5 245
All "0" voltages measure "0"
My hope is that the non-heating and 245V reading indicate a simple, specific problem... Otherwise, I guess I'll move into learning the circuit and trouble-shooting the issues.
Any assistance to this humble newbie will be most appreciated! Wayne

Post both expected and actual voltages.
Since you say the tube is not heating, you should feel it to check some don't glow much, you should check where the wires come to that tube to heat it. Read AC volts between the two terminals with the twisted wires coming from the transformer right side. If the 6080 doesn't heat the 12AT7 probably doesn't either.
With the tubes unheated the voltages just about everywhere in the high voltage circuit (B+) will be reading higher than called for. So maybe you should first heat up all the solder joints in the heater wire circuit?

Someone else just had similar problems and found that they had installed the octal socket backwards.

Yep -- Octal installed 90deg off. Thanks so much.
I broke a lead off the HLMP-6000 red LED. Where can I buy a replacement?
