We drove by this scene last night on the way home from work, about 45 minutes after it had happened. This is about four or five blocks from our house. Must have been a dozen police cars, and 50 people milling around as they were putting crime scene tape around the whole place.

I have had friends in different police departments over the years. It is an extremely dangerous career, I would never do it. If you point a gun at a police man, he is prepared to take you down. So, my conclusion is don't point a gun at a police officer.
-
Yes, everyone here is calling it a suicide-by-cop, and I don't think anyone faults the officers for the way they handled it. It's a busy street and they seemed to have contained it very quickly. Apparently the poor guy had some serious problem, very sad that he dealt with it the way he did.
-
Well, at least he didn't take anyone else with him, which seems to be the case all too often these days.

Did Jimmie come out and play the bagpipes?
-
Yes totally agree..VERY sad he did it that way.... and yes , it is extremely well known these days to NOT point a gun at a police officer, EVEN in a quiet little town...IF he wanted to die, he succeeded, IF he just didnt think the police would do it?... Well he unfortunately failed.... Sad stuff..

Yesterday, Feb. 9, there was shooting by police here also. Since I have lived in this small town, no crime like this was ever committed. This guy had hostages, and was firing a 357. out the window. Finally at 7:24 A.M he came out shooting and got what he deserved. In a town of 5,000 , this will be news for some time. In this case, I suspect Meth was involved.

That is only reserved for Paul and Doc when they get together and discuss circuit choices, changes and future new BH products......Its nickname is "the product maker" ...if a design choice just CANT be made, then an epic struggle ensues and whoever grabs it first?........ I believe Docs line is usually "we will do it THIS way, even if it kills you..." and when Paul goes for the grab, his favorite line usually is "you like my new circuit?... Well, do ya punk???.....
unnecessary but necessary internet disclaimer..... the above is totally fictitious and is meant for entertainment purposes only... the above is NOT in any way representing the Bottlehead group NOR their procedures or policies.....

Now I KNOW that I belong here. Love the piece Doc. Haven't laughed like that for awhile. You know, of course, you could sell thousands of those grips....like for my Sig. That reminds me, I'm gonna order some of those cool brass Bottlehead 'stickers'.

Yeah, I live in terror every day. As Doc says "Sometimes you just have to shoot the engineer and pry the latest revision from his cold dead hands to take it to market!"
...also fiction of course; I think I gave Doc this line but now he likes it ...
-
Paul, I always thought you were more of the Ninja type.
Grasshopper; your Circuitry is good, but mine is better ;)...John

That's funny Paul... :)
